Panattoni Construction and Development
Sacramento, California

Panattoni Construction and Development is a privately-owned business with locations around the globe. After a very competitive bid process, Western Contract was able to win over the hearts and minds of project architects Vitae Architecture for Panattoni's new headquarters in Sacramento, California.

Our Challenge
The client is both a construction and development company, so flexibility in function and aesthetic was important. However, when members of the Panattoni team visited Haworth's San Francisco showroom, the initial reaction to the Premise furniture product was lukewarm -- it looked too cool and urban for the client's taste.

Our Solution
The Panattoni team was convinced to tour Western Contract's showroom, where the same Premise product was installed with a warmer aesthetic, and understood the level of customization possible with Premise. And the product's range of worksurface types and sizes addressed the company's need to accomodate documents ranging from accounting reports to oversized drawings. Premise allowed Vitae and Panattoni the freedom to customize workstations to the job at hand and the performance level required.

Choosing the Premise modular furniture line allowed the design team to freely mix wood and fabric panels for different departmental looks, but maintain a modular consistency to visually tie the design together. Modularity also permits the flexibility to change out worksurfaces when the task or the team changes.

Using modular furniture for the private offices offers a high degree of personalization and the same ergonomics and flexibility as the workstations outside.
