Nolte Engineering is a family owned business with locations across the United States and Mexico. To execute a corporate program of facility improvements, Nolte chose Western Contract to renovate nine locations in three states, including their corporate headquarters in Sacramento.
Our
Challenge
The client had three goals in renovating the 27,000 square foot facility in Sacramento: to use an attractive interior to recruit and retain top engineering talent, to improve collaboration between engineers at all levels within the organization, and to get a top-performing interior space that maximized available natural light and minimized its environmental footprint.
Our
Solution
Working closely with the architects, Western Contract fashioned spaces organized into teams of senior and junior engineers and their support staff that fostered efficiency, mentoring and teamwork. Pulling private offices away from the exterior walls gave these teams a workplace both comfortable and well-lit, and moderates temperature extremes to save energy costs.
The client chose to enclose a central core of offices and, by using a "barn door" product, were able to conserve valuable interior space. The use of LifeSpace walls allowed for easy reconfiguration and removal, without the expense and waste of traditional interior construction, reducing its overall environmental impact. Other "green" choices include the Moxie furniture line, recycled rubber flooring and GREENGUARD carpet tile.
