Franciscan Estates
St. Helena, California

In a region renowned for casual charm and simple, rustic elegance, Western Contract Business Interiors guided the transition of an everyday retail space into the warm and inviting headquarters of Franciscan Estates, a distinguished California winery.

Our Challenge
For their corporate offices in Saint Helena, Franciscan Estates wanted a facility to combine 60 executives and staff from two previous offices.  This 13,000 square foot space had to be flexible enough to house marketing services for over 7 wineries in the corporate family,  be suitable for entertaining clients and be equipped to teleconference with the firm's wineries in Chile and Australia.  Also, Franciscan Estates wanted its offices to reflect the look and feel of the wine-growing region - warm, inviting, and comfortable.

It was our task to fit all these elements into a limited space with a constrained budget.

Our Solution
Our design and project management team was in constant communication with the general contractor, architects and Franciscan Estates on the project. This collaborative effort was crucial in completing a very elaborate program without cost overruns.

The team's choice of finishes played a key role in defining a relaxed aesthetic: veneer plaster, alabaster-look lighting and systems furniture that combines the warmth of real wood with the efficient use of space.  Modular sliding barn doors replaced conventional swing-out doors to conserve valuable square footage.
